How to Sauna and Get the Most Benefit
Have you ever had the opportunity to go to a day spa? These luxurious retreats are amazing and you feel fantastic after a day of pampering. Many of us have never had the means to spend the entire day in one of these spas enjoying different massages and skin treatments; instead, the closest we ever get is an hour to have a manicure/pedicure. Nevertheless, we can always dream about using the aromatherapy hot tubs and hot stone massage. One feature of these upscale spas people usually shy away from is the sauna. Even though it is known to be extremely relaxing and refreshing, people are nervous because they do not understand what to do. You no longer need to feel insecure because here is your long awaited guide on how to sauna!
A sauna is a room made from wood that uses either hot rocks or special infrared heaters to heat up the room to the temperature of 120 to 190 degrees Fahrenheit. People love using a sauna for its therapeutic qualities; it helps soften your skin, improves your blood circulation, and relaxes your tense muscles and sore joints.
If this time is your first sauna experience, know that you do not need to naked to enjoy the experience. Nothing erotic is implied by being nude in a sauna. If you are more comfortable wearing a sauna suit or a towel, that is perfectly acceptable. Try to sauna with friends so that you feel comfortable and can relax completely.
1) Take a shower first so that the sauna room can stay clean.
2) Enter the sauna room, lie down on one of the higher benches, and enjoy the heat.
3) Once you feel too warm, exit the sauna and cool down in the changing room or take another rinse off shower.
4) You can enter the sauna as many times as you like and stay in as long as you like. The first time try no more than just a few minutes. The second time you can try to be in there for about five to ten minutes to get more of the sauna benefits.
5) Once you are finished, take a cooling shower (or go for a swim in the pool).
6) Enjoy a drink and some food afterwards!
